The First Date
After months of texting, the pair decided to meet for dinner at House of Thai in Long Island City. Andre was late due to parking, while Luz was ready to ditch the date and go back home. Finally arriving, Andre gazed upon the beautiful woman before him. It was love at first sight, he likes to say. Food and drinks were ordered as Andre carried the conversation the entire evening. For once, Luz was quiet, which made Andre believe she was not interested in him. After the bill was paid, she ordered an expensive Tesla Taxi and drove off. Heartbroken, Andre thought he would never see her again...
2022
Some of our most memorable moments
2022 was a rollercoaster of a year. Andre's move to Buffalo placed a strain on their relatioship. The voyage was turbulant. However, strong communication, commitment, and a love like no other, would lead them to a calmer sea. The couple traveled as often as they could. Sharing common intrests such as food, photography, and nature. Towards the ending of the year Luz and Andre would find themselves unexpectedly blessed with a furbaby named....
MANGO
Our furbaby
Mango is the definiton of speaking things into existence. Luz and Andre discussed wanting an orange (yellow to some people) cat named Mango after Luz's sister Sonia told them the story of a patient's cat. A few weeks later Luz's brother Jose brought home an orange cat that a delivery driver found on the highway. The couple immediately wanted to adopt him. They named him Mango. Little did they know, Mango would change their lives for the better.
2023
June 17th
She said yes!
Months of planning and secrecy led to this moment. Andre was filled with emotions and disappointment as he assumed Luz had figured out the engagement. He would later find out that she was, in fact, clueless. Luz, Andre, Will, and Val set off to Nostrano Vineyards to take photos for Val's fake Instagram page. During the photoshoot, Val flagged down a photographer (Who was also in on the surprise) to "help" with the camera. Andre whispered to Luz, saying, "Let's play a joke on Val and Will. I'm going to pretend to propose." Luz laughed and said ok. Andre got down on one knee, looked at Luz, and smiled. Ready and in postion he told her that this was not a joke. This is real. In shock she said no while momentarily pulling her hands away. She looked over to Val confused completely ignoring Andre's speech. He locked eyes with Luz and asked her to marry him. Finally accepting that it was not a joke, she excitedly said.....yes.
